Trézor.io/Start® | Starting Up Your Device | Trézor®

Welcome to your official Trézor® setup guide. This page will walk you through every step of getting started securely with your Trézor® hardware wallet.

Why Use Trézor®?

Trézor® is a pioneer in crypto hardware wallets. By storing your private keys offline, Trézor® keeps your digital assets safe from hacks, phishing, malware, and unauthorized access. Whether you use the Trézor Model One or Model T, you’re trusting one of the most secure and transparent tools in the crypto world.

Step 1: Visit Trézor.io/Start®

To begin, open your internet browser and manually type the official address: Trézor.io/Start. This is the only verified site to safely set up your wallet, install software, and follow onboarding instructions. Do not click on random links or ads claiming to be Trézor®.

Step 2: Check Your Packaging

Before proceeding, inspect your Trézor® package for signs of tampering. The original packaging should be sealed and intact. Inside the box, you should find:

Warning: Your Trézor® device should never come preloaded with a recovery seed or PIN. If it does, do not use it. Contact official support immediately.

Step 3: Install Trézor Suite

Trézor Suite is the official application that lets you manage your crypto assets, update your firmware, and interact with your Trézor® device securely. Follow the steps at Trézor.io/Start® to download the correct version for your operating system (Windows, macOS, or Linux).

Step 4: Connect Your Device

Plug your Trézor® into your computer using the included USB cable. Once connected, open Trézor Suite. The app will prompt you to:

  1. Install the latest firmware update
  2. Create a new wallet
  3. Generate your recovery seed
  4. Write down your 12 or 24-word recovery phrase on the recovery card
  5. Confirm the seed by entering the words on your device

Never take a photo of your recovery phrase. Do not store it digitally or online. Keep it offline and secure.

Step 5: Set a PIN Code

During setup, you will also create a PIN code. This PIN is required every time you access your Trézor® wallet. Choose a code that is hard to guess and never share it with anyone.

Step 6: Add Cryptocurrency Accounts

Now that your wallet is secured, you can add accounts in Trézor Suite for different cryptocurrencies such as Bitcoin, Ethereum, Litecoin, and more. Trézor® supports hundreds of coins and tokens.

You can now send, receive, and manage your assets through Trézor Suite while your private keys remain safely stored on your device.

Step 7: Send and Receive Crypto Securely

To receive funds, generate a receiving address within Trézor Suite. Always confirm the address on your Trézor® device screen before sharing it with anyone.

To send funds, initiate the transaction in the app and physically approve it on your device. This ensures your transaction cannot be altered by malware or third parties.
